Hi Chris,
Just listened to the segment about Family Radio today. I agree that they have added Reformed programs. But this year you will still hear Harold Camping teaching Scripture. And while they don’t play the shows that display the heresies, Camping still is heard spiritualizing very many texts that is pure speculation on his part. As for the current president. I listened to a few of his half hour teaching segments in 2017 and i thought some of what he said was sketchy. I don’t know about now. But until they cease broadcasting Mr. Camping’s Bible teaching from the late 80s until his death, i would not recommend Family Radio to anyone but the most discerning Christian. But for Theologically-sound Christian Music there is no better library than Family Radio’s. I wish they had an all music stream on their app!
Hi Michael. Keep in mind that regardless of whatever remnants of Mr. Camping’s unorthodox teachings that may remain for a while the fact that Family Radio now seeks to be a friend, ally & platform to Doctrinally sound, Biblically faithful pastors & churches is a major breakthrough. I believe prayerful patience will be required to see elements of “Campingism” gradually fade completely away through the positive influence of the theologically accurate brethren who will once again have the attentive ears of the staff & mamagement of Family Radio. I have been involved in Christian radio for most of my adult life & know to find a Christian radio network where I do not have major problems with some on its line-up is extremely hard to find. I am excitedly & enthusiastically rejoicing over the opportinities ahead on Family Radio for the spread of Christ’s true Gospel & the furtherance of His Kingdom globally. Thank you for your concern & passion for Ttuth & for thinking so highly of Iron Sharpens Iron that you would invest the time to write & share your heartfelt thoughts. Grace & peace be with you, my brother!
Forgive me for adding to my comment. I remember hearing Mr. Evans briefly reiterate Camping’s claim that Saving Faith is not the believer’s own faith (a gift from God) but is actually Christ’s faith applied to us (as His righteousness is imputed to the believer). That is what i meant by the word “sketchy” in my previous comment.
Yes, Chris, I too am glad to see the changes at Family Radio. Actually, I wrote them three years ago suggesting that they make efforts to connect with Reformed Baptist pastors and even IRBS for a sound teaching foundation moving forward.
