This is very good information. I have a friend who has left the reformed faith and converted to Eastern Orthodoxy because of Hank Hanegraaf. It is very sad, indeed, and I am not even sure what to think of the situation, honestly. Thank you very much, Brother Arnzen for the information. Take care.
Orthodoxy has no sense of God’s profound holiness, or man’s need for forgiveness?! Are you being disingenuous here? Read any Orthodox prayer or hymn! There is much more of a sense of reverence for God’s holiness in Orthodoxy than any Protestant church I’ve ever been in. Not even comparable. The Orthodox of course reject pelagianism and semi pelagianism and believe in ancestral sin rather than the Calvinists view that original sin means men are damned for the sin of Adam. Orthodox synergism means humans have to respond to or reject God’s Grace in Christ. They of course reject the rationalistic formulation of TULIP which is a recent invention that came out of the same schools of thought that gave us the enlightenment. Election is a divine mystery, and there are many in scripture that Calvinism tries to reduce to formulas that humans are more comfortable with.
